Can I place my camera in a window, to monitor my car or driveway?
The cameras will not work when placed behind a pane of glass, this is due to the IR LEDs used for the cameras night vision. These will reflect off the glass back into the lens of the camera giving a blue blur rather than a useful image.
In daylight the camera can be used to monitor live footage through a window however the motion detection system will not work as the PIR sensor will not detect heat through a pane of glass so is not something we would recommend. For outdoor coverage just use our ProXT cameras, which can easily be installed externally (since there is no cable or drilling involved) and are weatherproof.
